Plot twist: your brain is made of flesh

I went to therapy like someone lost in the desert, searching not only for water but also for salvation.
For a long time, my mind had stopped being a safe place. Living inside it wasn't easy anymore. And admitting that wasn't easy either.
But when that "solution" appeared in front of me, I simply went.
And I can't say it wasn't miraculous, because it was.
The people I met opened so many new spaces within me. They held my hand as I revisited old places, they gave me comfort, love, and showed me new possibilities.
But without a doubt, those miracles happened because I decided to go.
And I really went.
Wholeheartedly.
In pieces.
In whatever way I could.
But I went.
For many years, that became the greatest priority of my life: learning to live better inside my own mind.
And every bit of that investment was worth it.
My mind has never been such a good place to be.
It's funny that now I'm beginning to realise that it's not enough for the mind to become a welcoming place.
The body has to become one too.
Because the two are intimately connected in an endless circle.
The mind deeply influences the physical state, and the body profoundly affects the state of the mind.
Truth be told, they are one and the same.
After all, the brain is made of flesh.
And no amount of therapy can save us if we don't sleep well, nourish ourselves according to what our body needs, move our bodies, spend time in the sun... listen to our bodies...
Just as there is no miraculous lifestyle if we don't allow ourselves to feel, welcome and release our emotions.
It is a dance between two partners who, in truth, are only one.
