From the Inside Out: The Purpose That Fills the Void

The purpose of every human being in this life is to be who they are.

Many people ask me: how do I know what my purpose is? What did I come here to do? I myself have asked myself this question at one point in my life.

These questions often come from an inner void that has no name and that we think will be filled with external things or knowledge. If the relationship improves, everything will be fine. If I change jobs, then my life will be great. If I know my purpose, I will feel fulfilled.

If you feel this way, do an exercise. Imagine that you have what you are “lacking”.

Put yourself right in that place where you have all those things.

Visualize in detail. And then see if you still feel like something is missing.

If so, that's when you realize how much wonderful things you have in life and that there's nothing life can give you that will fill that hole.

This is often followed by a feeling of panic 😅

You say: So what now? The emptiness is there. The feeling that something is missing is there.

But now you know that nothing from outside will take that away from you. In fact, emptiness can never be taken away. It must be embraced.

You can sit with him on the couch as if he were an old acquaintance, because he is, except that you've never really looked at him.

And, day after day, together with him, you look at your life and are grateful for every wonderful thing you have (small or big).

This void is filled with time, with gratitude and, most importantly, with you.

It's an emptiness of you.

Of looking at yourself with your heart.

And the day that filling the void stops being the focus, it starts to disappear ✨
