It’s just a memory

A reminder for anyone who needs to read this today:
A memory is just a memory.
It’s not something that is happening now.
It’s something that happened.
I don’t need to stay stuck in that memory.
Nor place it in a bigger space than it truly has.
I can release and let go.
And that doesn’t mean forgetting, denying, or erasing.
It means recognizing that it belongs to the past.
That it has already fulfilled its role.
That today, it is only a memory — not a place where I need to live.
